I am hoping to get one of you great skinners to commission this skin in the P-51B.
The description in the image does state P-51C. But history tells us that the only difference between the "B" and "C" versions was the "Cs" were built in Dallas Texas and the "Bs" were built in the Long Beach California North American Aircraft plants.
Otherwise the aircraft are fairly identical. There were a few small changes in the "C" like the addition of the dorsal fin on the vertical stabilizer, but it was not consistent on all models.
The pilot of this aircraft is USAF Col. Charles McGee (Retired). I met Col. McGee about 12 years ago at my flying clubs Christmas party. What a great guy. If I didn't know anything about military history, I would have thought he was just a nice old fella.
Col. Mcgee flew in three American wars; WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He still holds the record for the most combat missions flown by any American military combat pilot at 409.
It would be an honor to have his steed in the game.
Thanks for taking a stab it this. I wish I could do these myself. I am just not as talented as you guys.
