Delta Airlines Passengers Escort Fallen Soldier
« on: October 31, 2013, 07:38:45 PM »
I got a bit choked up reading this, the thoughts of a passenger aboard a Delta Airlines flight, upon learning that their flight was carrying home the remains of a fallen soldier.

Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Great find. Thanks for sharing. :salute :salute :salute
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.

It tugs at your heart.  My Brother and I lost our father this past February.  We found his discharge papers when going through his personal effects.

Upon reading his discharge papers we found he was a decorated veteran. He never said anything of it.  We knew he was in N.Africa and Italy,

but we did not know he was a mountain fighter in Italy in the 5th Army, Custer's division.  We were contacted by the local American Legion and

they asked if they could bury my Father with full military honors, it was proper to do so.  At his burial site they read his entire Military Record.

I am his oldest Son, when they folded the Flag and presented it to me with the words "From a grateful Nation"  I about lost it, but I held.

They then played Taps and gave a 21 gun salute to my Father.  All of us are very blessed and grateful to those who have served and serve our country in any

War, at any time.  God Bless our Troops, past and present.

Well done Delta.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Reminds me of a good movie Taking Chance.
Childhood is over the moment you know your gonna die.  Fight not to Fail, or end up like the others.   In my crate, im the commander.
