6 GIAP-ChF Yak-9u
« on: November 22, 2013, 04:42:57 PM »
This is the Yak-9U of Captain Mikhail Ivanovich Grib in late 1944, while he was CO of the 3rd Squadron of 6 GIAP of the Black Sea Fleet. Grib flew 500 sorties from 1941 until 1945, mostly in Yaks during the war, scoring 13 kills plus four shared. His Yak-9U featured a monotone light grey scheme and was decorated with his unit's Guards emblem as well as his personal Hero of the Soviet Union and Order of the Red Banner awards.

I used to use the monotone grey Yak-9U skin by Airmess on the old model (though it seems to have been a post-war skin). This shall be my new skin of choice for sure. Great work!
