Der Kessel Frame 3 Summary and Final Scores
« on: November 23, 2013, 08:33:02 PM »
The Frame 3 Allied Ace was BigGamer of G3-MF

YAK-7B - Kapitan Sergej Danilovich Luganskij was know as the Master of the Taran (Ramming Attack) having successfully brought two aircraft down by ramming in separate attacks. Luganskij fought in the Finnish Winter War but distinguished himself in the Battles for Stalingrad and later Kursk. Luganskij survived the war with 37 victories and 6 assists. He was highly awarded and retired as a Major General. Luganskij passed away in 1977.

Biggamer shot down 5 enemy aircraft. 2 Bf 109E4s flown by CANUKK and Domino of JG11 Sonderstaffel and 3 Bf 109F4s flown by ZE, EagleCH of 364th C-Hawks FG and Droptine of VF-17 "Jolly Rogers". Biggamer landed successfully.

The Frame 3 Axis Ace was Dougall of JG2

FRAME 3 – Bf 109G-2 – Oberleutnant Georg Schentke was a veteran of the Western Campaigns of France and Britain where he claimed 4 victories. In the East he brought his total to 71 victories by July 1942. He briefly left the front, and returned in November 1942 and was part of the Pitomnik Defense Squadron. On Christmas Day he was last seen parachuting into a Soviet occupied area near Stalingrad after attacking IL-2s. He was credited with 90 total aerial victories, 29 of them during the defense of Pitomnik. war and retire after 32 years of service flying over 50 different types of aircraft.

Dougall failed to shoot down any enemy aircraft. Dougall landed successfully.

The Stalingrad Airlift Objective

The Axis launched 47 He 111Hs.

18 were shot down or crashed before arriving or rearming at Pitomnik (A25).
29 rearmed or landed at Pitomnik (A25).
14 were shot down or crashed before returning to base at Rostov. (A71, A21, A22)
15 landed successfully at Rostov. (A71, A21, A22)

63.8 Tons of Food and Supplies were delivered.
180 Personnel were successfully evacuated.

189.2 Tons of Food and Supplies delivered over all three frames.
420 Personnel were successfully evacuated over all three frames.

Pitomnik Defenders Objective

364th CHAWKs and The FREEBIRDS were selected for the role of Pitomnik Defenders.

364th CHAWKs launched 9 pilots. They shot down 6 Soviet Aircraft. 6 Aircraft were lost to enemy fire.

The FREEBIRDS launched 6 pilots. They shot down 5 Soviet Aircraft. 1 Aircraft was lost to enemy fire.

The Defenders Objective after Frame 3 stands at Axis 61 - Allied 25.

ALLIED PILOTS: 130
AXIS PILOTS: 154

ALLIED KILLS: 83
AXIS KILLS: 89

ALLIED ASSISTS: 50
AXIS ASSISTS: 79

ALLIED DEATHS: 80
AXIS DEATHS: 71

Here are the breakdowns for the frames by points.

The Allies took Frame 1 in points by really smashing up the Vehicle base objectives. The Axis successfully delivered 77% of the Supplies and but only evacuated 33% of the personnel.

Frame 2 was much closer as the points for the three Vehicle base objectives were more split between the two sides. I had to enforce a penalty in the amount of -120 points for the Axis for going way below minimum on the He 111 (72 Points) Bf 109E and Bf 110 (48 Points). The Allies failed to supply Stalingrad enough supplies with only 42% and only managed to bring home 8% of the personnel evacuated.

In frame 3 the Allies failed to destroy hardly any objects at the Vehicle bases and airfield objectives, which caused a huge swing in the points towards the Axis. The Axis successfully delivered 60% the supplies but only evacuated 31% of the personnel.

In the Pitomnik Defenders Objective the Axis came very close to successfully completing the Objective, but fell 4 short on reaching the 65 needed kills with 61! A very good effort! Therefore the Allies, who shot down 25 of the German Pitomnik Defenders, are rewarded with 75 points.

That brings the total and FINAL scores to...

Allies: 2216
Axis: 2325

A very close event by the numbers! I hope everyone had a good time, and want to thank the setup CMs for their patience and hard work, the CICs for some guinea pig action and the players for allowing me to try something a little different and hopefully entertaining.

Thanks again, and see you again in 2014.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

JG11 was tasked with the "airlift & evacuation" for frame 2.  I was dreading it.  Didn't want to even show up but that is not the way JG11 conducts themselves so I goggled up an hopped in the 111.

I was amazed at how much fun I had.  We flew NOE all the way there, having a ball talking our way across the map.  Landing and rearming under enemy fire was intense and the "skedaddle home" was white knuckled the whole way.

Nef, ya out did yourself on this one.  Completely new goals to me and I suppose many others.  Thank you very much for putting this together sir  :salute
