Anyone care to ante-up their pick?
- Or see how their 'fave' would stack up in this scenario?

Reno race altitude is reckoned to be ~8kft..

Fastest Aces High [& Mil-spec test results proven] Recip's for Reno Race..

Tempest but introduce a longer race and it starts to favor other planes because of fueling.

The menacing ferrets who have recently switched over here from warbirds used to have races carefully planned that could be won by more than simply the fastest plane in the planeset and you could win those races in different planes simply by different fueling strategy and flight planning.

I hope to see something similar here.

Scroll to the bottom for details on all of the races.

On challenge number 10, I picked a 190D9 with drop tank and, during practice, found it fastest by a good margin but that the ki84 would leap to a considerable lead and not be overtaken by the 190d until the 65% point of the race.

During the race, I waited a full minute on the runway because I knew that so many planes on takeoff would cause view issues with 25 cocpits being merged with your own (10 guys crashed on takeoff) and because I calculated the 190 could still make the pass by the 90% race distance but I pinged the prop on a hangar barnstorm pass at near 500mph after having caught up to 50% of the participants.
