Arizona Wildcat football
« on: November 24, 2013, 08:50:46 AM »
After dealing with arrogant Oregon Duck fans at work all day on Friday (they were actually pretty cool and lot of fun but they were cocky as hell) I was there on a cold rainy day, when this team after two disappointing home losses somehow put it together and stomped the living crap out of #5 Oregon.

Oregon: "We don't want to play in the Rose Bowl, been there done that"

Arizona: "Noted"

Barely a winning season this year, but what a great afternoon to be in Arizona stadium to see the hometown team play to near perfection.

I watched about 3 quarters of the game. Didn't know it was on TV until after the 1st quarter. As an alumnus I was very happy to see this happen. The U of A team has never been a real power house. Back in the early 70's it was more entertaining to watch the students in the stands outwit stadium security about drinking than watch the game.

Like the announcer said, if Arizona had been playing like that all year, they would be undefeated now. Next year might just be very interesting.

Lastly I hope they do trounce the scumdevils next week. Frankly, like a lot of U of A folks, I consider it a good season as long as they beat asu.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Not an alumnus but have been going to games since I arrived here from Oklahoma for Larry Smith's last season. Now my daughter is a U of A freshman.

It's been a tough watching them go from mediocrity to 9-3 to mediocrity to 10-2 to mediocrity to 12-1 back to mediocrity for the past couple of decades.

After finally pouring 70 million into facilities you hope they are getting serious about football but everyone else in the Pac 12 is doing that too.

$70,000,000

That would have been better spent on the education facilities.

This is fantastic. A lot of my friends back in Washington are Ducks fans, and if ASU wins the game next week, I can claim ASU beat the ducks through proxy  :D.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

College football pays a lot of the bills at universities.
