Many people, as is evidenced by the many discussions about his passing that can be found.  Noting the passing of a person of historic significance does not mean you cannot also note the passing of the American soldiers who died yesterday.  The reverse is also true.

The majority of SA loved and wanted Mandella's way for SA... it has always been the minority that ruled ...it is now the minority who still bad mouth.... The man is an icon of change...Unfortunately this dies with him....out of respect it will continue on a path of pretending to change. This will not last and the generations of hate will prevail. it is very unfortunate..I hope I am wrong

Mandella faced a struggle and was touted a terrorist by those who lived by ruling in fear..... to be treated as such and not turning to hate but still wanting to instill unity to his country is beyond compare.... this man will go down in history among the greats...

One thing to look at...he was 95... Ok.... but look at the time frame .... 1918 - 2013 ...... there has been so much change is this world in that time and his goal was only ever one thing

Oh yeah....ole Winnie.... yes, she is a very nasty piece of work....   

As a person who has direct contact with SA people... married into it and all...one thing has stood out to me as a very real thing.... my brother in law once said...and it has stuck....

Winnie Mandella and her bodyguards came up with the "necktie" method of dealing with opponents. Not a nice woman, and a stain on Mandella's legacy.
