Custom-----fuel load
« on: December 30, 2013, 12:18:27 AM »
Instead of 1/4th a tank or 1/2 a tank so on as a load out it would be nice for a slider bar that you can select however much fuel you want. Anywhere between   1-100% tank of fuel because when your in 29s or planes that Carry alot of fuel the 25% can make a HUGE difference in weight, performance, climb rate and flight time. :salute :salute :old:

No.  Not only NO but FRACKLE NO.

'lemme guess... this wish is to give that wee extra but of turn radius that is thought to make you superior in the virtual skies of AH? Being able to make your plane as light as possible it whips around like in the movie "Redtails"?  This must be similar to those bananas that dump the rear gun ammo in the 110 and 410 thinking it gives them an "advantage" of some sort.

Of the countless ferry runs and missions and "mail runs" my grandfather did in aircraft such as the B24D, B17F, C47, C45F, C87A, L48, UC61A, and a host of others, there are just a few flights that he lifted without 100% fuel.  He lifted in B17F's from somewhere in AZ and flew them to San Fran with less than 100%, how much is actually unknown because the logs only say "ferry load" in the fuel column.  Everything else was 100%.  Mind you that most of his flights were over the south PTO and fuel was more important than bomb load.

Point being, fuel is a huge part in flight and being able to manipulate such things to that degree is a bit much.  In the real deal the importance of fuel and range were more important than in AH, and that is sad. The "fuel dump" wish is another   :bhead  moment for me.  AH already has too many ways to "game the game", I think it is a shame we can take 25% and DT.  That right there should be your "wish granted".

Consider it this way, I learned to dogfight with 100% in most aircrafts, i.e 109s or Yak's hell even 75% in a P-38 ( wasn't brave enough to fly with 100%). If a player can't learn to use its strengths or weaknesses (overloaded with fuel) then when it comes to scenarios and FSO he might have a really bad time when he either runs out of fuel or can't dogfight.

I think the 25%/50%/75%/100% is just fine, if 25% is to much fuel then take off, autoclimb in a direction for a while and come back.

:headscratch:  I thought it was called "beer" when you failed to get off the runway.  Or was that "vodka"?  Maybe it was "beer" when you do nothing but "play" with Mrs. Squirrel? :headscratch:
