I will respond as best I can:

1. I appreciate your kind words concerning my abilities.  Ok..maybe average is not the right label, but I'm not one of the elite by any stretch of the imagination.

I never said anything about "elite"  :neener:

2. HOs happen.  I do tend to Look at a HO attempt as an opportunity for a reversal and a kill so no, not that.  I don't end up fighting 5 on 1 normally because I maintain good SA and (usually) see when the fight is getting to a point where I need to egress.  The hoarding is getting a bit old, but that wasn't it as well...it really was a combination of that and then endless parade of primadonna whining and poor sportsmanship / behavior that sent me over the edge.  I knew I needed a break so I did.

I do agree with what I believe you've implied concerning these conditions slowly eroding away the player base.

OK lets remove the "tags", you were getting tired of the same old lame things you see almost every flight, whether it was game play, or game players. Agreed?

It's the plague that has infested the game. Poor game play and poor game players allowed to run away with the game.

try this, take off fly into red guys, dont worry about points. toss them out the window. just play! if you die, salute the guy that killed you, get another plane and go try to kill him again. dont stop til you finally kill him. after you do kill him, try to land plane. if that dont work, find the biggest horde on the map, call them sissy's and you'll meet them at base XXX and prove it to them. that should take care of any lack of fights!! happy holidays!

People keep complaining about the lack of fights.  I don't see it.  Of course, I haven't been on in a week or so.  Schedule has been too busy.  But the last time I was on, there was a massive furball.  It was a lot of fun.  I can't always find a good fight.  But I can usually find some trouble to get into.

I watched 2 different players auger into the ground after dropping bombs on the field...a P47 and a 190....

I had 4 guys run to ack....many planes just hit the deck and run when its just me...and only when they have friends do they turn and engage.....

the game play is straight up pathetic now  a days.....

there are still players in it for the combat, but they are the minority and dwindling fast.

I believe the whole "war" and taking bases has become the main focus of the majority of players, and their fight is a completely different fight than I want or reason to even play the game.

There are lots of great fights at prime times, but it gets hard to find fights after about 3 am Eastern (midnight Pacific, 8 am London time).  I wish for maps whose active areas get smaller when there are less people on, or smaller maps when number of players goes below some number, or something like that.

They said the same thing when I kept posting that the NOE's were getting out of hand.... I guess I was wrong then too.

Just for giggles I checked my score for captures with a goon for the last 5 years. I almost never have captures let alone in a goon as I spend most of my time defending. On top of that ranking doesn't show you how many "ties" for that spot are, but just for the sake of argument lets say they average out about the same. All are for December late war.

2013 - rank 1986
2012 - rank 2927
2011 - rank 3234
2010 - rank 3717
2009 - rank 4700
2008 - rank 5149

if it continues as it is next December I'll be ranked in the top 1000 in capture with a goon WITHOUT EVER FLYING A GOON!

I guess nothing is wrong this time either  :aok

It's much easier for Fugi to complain instead of realize that only person in charge of how much fun game is or is not going to be for him ....is himself. Since day one........ :old:  :rofl :rofl

Bottom line is game is what you make of it. Some make it to be all negative then that is what it will be. Same holds to be truth for the positive aspects of game.

Fights can ALWAYS be found. At any given time there is any given amount of things going on...ie Mission attacking a base, a furball, a gv ground attack, a CV shelling or launching an Air Assualt on a base, High Alt Bombing of Strats....etc. That is one of the great aspects of MA....1000 things going on at one time. A person is able to CHOOSE to partake in any of these things that are taking place.

I will also add that if ANY of these things are not taking place....you can make any one of them happen. You can pick/start a fight via GV.....on a town/base that will bring 15-20 of enemy to counter you. You can attack a base via CV, and fight the enemy that come to attack and sink your CV. You can fight in a furball for hours on end if that is your thing...if you die...get right back in it. You can hammer strats and kill enemy that comes to counter you at 30K.

The point is the options are endless for fights. It's all about perception.

I recently tried to come back to AH, I spent better part of my saturday just looking for a fight. After 6 or so kills in over an hour period I decided to give up.

I may give it one or two more sorties to find some interest, but honestly I just posted for a PBEM game two weeks ago for Bombing the reich, I can see myself getting far more involved and having fun planning bombing missions across europe then watching two hordes play while I sit in a tower unable to move for 11 hours and do nothing.

Here's my overall map, so far he's really not wanting to meet my bombers, he's pulled the FW-190 squadrons to the rear and only use them if I attempt to penetrate past cologne. With 12 squadrons of P-47D11's and the 56th Squadron at the lead, I hope to make a dent in his little luftwobble soon :)
