Moving AH films to a HDD
« on: January 19, 2014, 03:02:14 PM »
Is there a way to move the AH film folder from a SSD to a HDD so that it records and saves to the HDD

without having to install AH to the HDD ?

I don't think so. I think the films are saved to a folder in the parent folder the game is run out of.

Might be a good "wish list" item though with more and more people using the SSD's.

Every so often I just copy and paste everything from the SSD over to my HDD.  I was going to just reinstall the game on my HDD, but with the pending engine update I suspect faster HD speeds might be more beneficial.

No.  Everything has to run from the installation folder.

If you are having issues running Aces High from your hard drive, I would suspect there are other issues with the computer.  Aces High is highly optimized to preload whatever it is going to need to draw a frame.

I just periodically offload the AHFilm files from the parent folder to another drive. No problem with the film viewer running them from wherever I put them. I remember there was a glitch about the game crashing if the films folder was full so I just got in the habit of clearing it out every now and then.
