15 second lag times

Initially, I thought my onboard sound was causing the extreme lag as it seemed to happen around a lot of voice transmissions. I installed a dedicated sound card and things seemed to be better, then again I don't up planes much now because of it. The lag doesn't happen a lot, but when it does it horrid. I'm experiencing it every hour or so.

After an hour or so of flying tonight, I was engaged in a furball and the lag started. The screen froze for about 15 seconds with 3 frame skips. I pressed x and went to windows to see if anything out of the ordinary was running. Unfortunately, I could not get back in the game as the desktop was freezing up. After rebooting, everything seemed fine.

I'm thinking this could be a cpu issue??? I also have a Radeon HD 6800 video card; could it possibly be causing the issue?

Appreciate any help in this matter.

Ummmm, I upped a GV one time, no engagement and landed. Upped a pony with squaddies for the remainder of time.

When I have lag on the ground it's not as bad.

1)  It does not look like you have loaded the native motherboard drivers as they are all appearing as the "standard" drivers, which are not going to give the best performance.

2)  You have two active sound cards in the computer.  Creative does not share well with other sound devices.  You need to disable one of them.

3)  The page file usage is enormous.  If that DXDIAG was taken with nothing running on the desktop, you need to take a look at what you have in the background.

Run the DXDIAG output after you think you have everything shut down.  The page file usage should be well below 1GB for a normal Windows 7 system.
