I hate it when someone wants to join you or wants you to join in a squad while you are in flight.

These messages should not show up unless you are on the ground or in a buff.

mrfish.... They didn't invade this thread they started it.

I would not mind answering any of those questions for anyone but...... I don't know the answer to a single one of them.

You know, when someone is asking for help, and you obviously have the time to read everyone of their messages, you should help them.  Otherwise, you're just being a part of your own whine.  This game is based on community and cooperation.  Help the newbies for God's sake!!!  I do it whenever I can.

Whats unfortunate, is that some new players are reading this thread.

Like any of us knew the ropes our first few flights in a new sim? I prefer the training scheduled times in the TA to trying to do it in the arena...worked in AWDOS.

Also, how many trainers are in AH anyway...I only have seen a couple speak up and try to help the new players...I've had new players asking for help and I have suggested they get in touch with a trainer, but could not find one online...ended up helping them myself.

Just Curious!

Yoda I help when I can but I'm here to have fun and I don't get paid by HTC so I help when I want and who I want. I don't get on as much as I like so when I'm in I don't want to spend my time training someone new.

I don't mind answering 1 or 2 questions but when they start asking you 20 to 30 it gets old and that's when most people say read the manual or go to the TA.

well you could ask them if they plan on staying on and invite them into your squad and train them from the get go ,

it seems if ya show them a lil kindness then say hey take a look at the manual next time before ya fly even print the key list  that its taken more kindly by the newbie

It would be kind of nice if HTC could "convince" a few people to help out newbies in the MA.

Is the TA staffed at certain times or is is just staffed when a trainer shows up?  It would also be nice if the MA could point people to the TA for help.

I'd hate to see AH stagnate if too many newbies decided not to subscribe based on how they are treated (sometimes) in the MA.

There is no set training schedule in the TA.  It's staffed when it's convenient for the trainers to be there.  We also set up appointments with folks and train that way.

Guys, feel free to write down my email address "sconrad@hfx.eastlink.ca" and give it out.  You can give this email to ANY newbie asking questions in the MA if you are too busy killin' stuff.    I'll field emails and hook newbies up with trainers from there.

Hey Flakbait,

That probably explains why I got a join request from an apparent newbie about a month ago.

I went ahead and accepted him, and just continued trying to down the reds and rtb.  Neither he or I did any comm on either the green, gray or white channel.  After a while I either landed or got shot down.

He disappeared then.

The interesting thing was that at the time, I thought "Why is this guy wanting to join me.

Fortunately, I've had no other join requests since then.

Oh well.

YES !! we need some numbers (corner velocity)
most BOX sim come with some charts , people in here say "umm ,, around 200"
I don't mind answering some questions
, but some are soo dumb . Even I knew what the E key was for
If HT is open for the world , they do need translated help files , HT hasn't been to helpful lately , I still cant save my gun volume and have asked several times .

How about a training schedule?  1 night a week in the TA that we can inform the new players that there WILL be a trainer present.

When I 1st downloaded AH, i messed with the program offline for 2 evenings before i stepped into the MA.  I knew how to choose a plane, how to choose a tank, how to start and drivem both, I had mapped my stick, all this before I even flew online the first time..  I didn't want to waste my 2 weeks not knowing how to play.  Sure I missed a few things, and had to ask.
Most of my online flyin experience has been with AW3, and you hardly ever saw all these "How do i ###?" questions.
somethin gotta be done..

This is an interesting post...

I remember when all of you were doing just that when beta opened. Having flown some alpha I was in a position to answer some questions. I remember spending hours answering those questions and not getting to fly...

Hey guys, if you can help with a simple answer, do the right thing, answer the question. If it gets to be too much, then refer the individual to a trainer. I am one and my email is lmluper@att.net. Feel free to use it to help someone learn the game. Don't use it to spam my e-mail with nonsense.
