Newbie needs training badly
« on: February 14, 2014, 04:45:00 AM »
I am hoping that I can get some time with a trainer on my somewhat strange schedule.
I am in Australia and work rotating shifts. I can be online between 9:30 and 11:30 PM Chicago time (2:30 4:30PM here).
I need help with BFM and ACM. It seems like the more theoretical knowledge I gain, the worse my practical skills get.
Ingame name : fodder    (matches my playing style). :bhead

Good Morning CeeEff,
I can meet up with you this coming Saturday night my time which would be 8:30 to 10:30 pm EST(2:30-4:30 pm your time, the next day I think)

My gameid online is: TC

I'll be in the TA  30 minutes early, at 8:00 pm EST, my local time

I look forward to working with you and helping you out with any discrepancies you might
be experiencing, sir....

Let me know if this works for you and your time frame?

That's a pretty big time difference..  Lol. 14-16 hrs I believe.  US eastern time is -5 UTC/GMT, Australia can be +9, +10, or +10.5 UTC/GMT.  So... 2:30pm would be between 11pm - 12:30am Est, I think.  My math is often bad though..

Luckily, I'm usually online between 10pm and 2am Est, which should be roughly the same time frame.  If you can't get with an actual trainer, like TC, look for me online or shoot me a pm.  I'm not a super great fighter jock by any means but I can show you basic stuff.

Thanks everybody. I plan on catching TequilaChaser for some training then, hopefully,  then maybe catch some practice with later if I can.
I need a LOT of practice.

I meant to mention it last nite/early morn but had to log and forgot. I hope someone mentioned it to you already, but you had your gear down in the Corsair a couple of times when you were attacking Knights field off of your CV. When you vary your takeoff in any way the autotakeoff is disabled and you need to manually retract your landing gear. Also F4U-D has auto flaps enable for takeoff, you'll have retract your flaps too in all cases.

Also, I enjoy helping ppl learn the ropes. I'm not a trainer and I'm far from one of the better peelots here, but still there's quite a bit I can impart to you if you like, PM me if you see me in the MA and we'll goto the TA.

Best of luck, most will tell you there is a steep learning curve, and that's true. However, working with a trainer, albeit may not be as exciting, but it will pay big dividends in your ability to do whatever you want to in the game.

Welcome

not at 8:00pm est my time... I'll be there around 10:30-10:45pm est my time, which should be about
2:30-2:45pm your time  CeeEff ( fodder ) ...

Catch you online later tonight sir...

I try to find new and stupid ways to die after the old one gets boring. So after a week of lawndarting I moved on to augering. Now I have added gear down attacks to my repertoir. I did (finally) figure out about the F4 flaps.
Thanks for the offer of help. I will keep an eye out for you in the MA

CeeEff / Fodder,
I've tryed to send you several pm's but I keep getting an instant Away Auto Response...

In the 15 or so years being on the AHBBS, I've never encountered that...

I'll have that training material package of our first training session, emailed to you soon as I get my pc back together , sir... and look forward to our next training session this weekend!

My sincere apologies for the slight delay...

TC. ( takes forever to type a message on a dang phone )

Yes, all the messages will still be in his inbox as normal, the auto responder will only be annoying on your end as every time you send a message you instantly get a reply.

Try shooting a message to Hlbly, the auto response may amuse you.  :lol
