Well I can only speak for RookLand but I never hear anyone who cares about who plays what side. At most one or two names have been mentioned as having remarkable psychic abilities about enemy locations but Ive never heard broad accusations. Because....who cares? Who cares how whomever spends their $15?

To make a statement that 1/2 the game does is just silly. Dont accuse the 99% for the silliness of the 1%.

Lol you must be going round mot reading text then, I used to see this regular on Rooks. Not knocking Rooks the others do it as well.

I was actually making a statement that 3/4 of the game does that.

Percentages, how the f do they work?!?!

3/4 of the text buffer and vox is not 3/4 of the players.  Its usually 5% of the players.  :D

First thing I do when logging in is check the number of players on each country and if the gay-ass 12 hour rule isn't holding me down, I move to the little guy.

Made a lot of friends on each country doing it this way and it can be fun to get the "welcome backs!" when you visit.

There are even more people, and even more stories, in the other countries.

There are even more people, and even more stories about how the knights are better fighters, in the other countries.

The good side of changing countries is that you get friends and enemies on every chess piece :)

Plus people start frothing at the mouth and calling you a spy (or worse - I was once accused of being ManAWar :D) when you talk on country channel, which is fun in a troll-ish kind of way

I miss the days when people were accusing me of spying when I switched sides. I remember one time the second I switched someone tried to get everyone to report me and get me muted.  :lol It was some good laughs! Now people just accept the fact that I'm just unloyal to all 3 countries.  :)

Flew Rook only for the first 5yrs of the game, then switched to Knights about 2 or 3 yrs ago .....Switch back to Rook now and then just to say hello.....What i learned from this is that 2/3rds of the people in this game are pretty friggin cool......minus the knucklehead hear and there

Think next month ill slide over to Bishops and take a month long tour    :aok

Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.

I have been a Rook over a year now.  After a year you start getting to know people having heard them talk on the Vox many times over.  You hear funny things and sad things sometimes.  Each time you get a little piece of their life.  Not a lot, but just enough to start drawing a mental image be it right or wrong.

My wife even knows some of the names now.

Probably want ever change counties I figure.
You miss that connection with 2/3's of the players that way.

over the years, what i have found is that if you never talk to someone except on the boards, you can hate them with a passion. the first time you have a phone conversation or happen to be on the same side as them, you find out they're not so bad.

I've experienced this over and over. i won't list examples, but can tell you one person made my blood boil....until i talked to to him. when i did, everything changed. i would consider him a friend now, not that I've ever met him in person.

don't limit yourself and don't base you opinions of people on these boards and on what people type.... you will be missing out on a lot of good people and potential friends by doing that. take the time to get to know people. you'll find that everyone that plays this game is all good people. granted some are quirky, and some will stir the pot just for fun, but in the end, its worth talking to them in person, not typing 200 or on the boards. switch sides often and you'll find the world is a better place and there are great people out there that you will never meet if you feel the need to stay in one place. my 2 cents!!
