88's AP Gunsight
« on: February 27, 2014, 10:07:44 AM »
As I understand it the RL 88's had 2 gun sights, 1 for AA and 1 for ground targets. It would be nice to switch to an appropriate different gun sight when changing from AA to AP or back.

You are correct about the table of equipment and organization for the German 88 (TO&E) The gun has two sighting systems and the ground target sight was very good. The German 88 also had a two speed gear for traversing the gun at a much faster rate then the Ace High 88.

+1 That little circle is an inadequate sight for attempting to achieve a killing blow.

Has anyone else noticed that the dispersion on the field 88mm AP shell is enormous for some reason (making an accurate sight less useful)?

Yup.  Makes shooting at tanks or ground targets at a range very difficult.
If we have something to show we will & do post shots, if we have nothing new to show we don't.

Addition of an AP gun sight would be great. I hate that circle!
