EM Diagrams for AH Fighters?

Is there a resource that has EM diagrams for all of the AH fighters? Or at least tabular data from them?

Don't think so, but of course it is a pretty easy thing in AHII to get a feel for corner and best sustained. The questionable thing on many planes is whether flaps improve anything or not. For instance, IIRC best sustained turn rate in Jugs and Hogs comes at two notches. Whereas in a Pony, best sustained comes at just one notch and more than two doesn't do much for you at all in radius either.

You can also do an Advanced Search on the AH messageboards.........

I suggest to search in the following manner

click on the search link, then click the little + button to open up all the forums, then click the check all box to uncheck all of them..

next only check box  the following forums: Help & training,  Fighter Ace Q & A, Aces High General Discussion, Aircraft and Vehicles and Axis vs Allies   forums

in the fill in box for words to search type    EM Diagrams   ( just as I typed it and make sure use all words is checked on the right side )    then for the  username enter   Badboy

for the   message age  set it to   Between 0 days and 9900 days


this will show you a very large sum of threads regarding EM Diagrams and the discussion of, here on the AH BBS

Please Note: a few of the results(page links ) will not show up or say do not exist if they go back beyond 2003  a lot will but some don't...

I have been able only to get back to January 2000 postings ........ for some   ( but the AH BBS has been through like 4 or 5 changes since Fall of 1999 )

Maybe this belongs in the wishlist but it would be nice if HTC provided some additional performance charts (such as turn/EM diagrams) in addition to speed and climb for the aircraft on their website. Heck their aircraft description wiki pages are terribly incomplete.

I agree. Part of the "realism" of the sim should be an actual AFM/POH, or at the very least the performance diagrams. It should be something that could be generated automatically for every aircraft, given the flight model in this game.

or you could look at it another way. 

Rather than have a table, chart or textbook telling you what each plane can and cannot do.  Up out of the hangar and die 1000s of times until you KNOW.

Sometimes flying isn't about the science but the feel of your plane.   

I'm always available to give you some DA time Shadow.    I won't get any enjoyment out of repeatedly putting you in the tower honest!

No matter what former squad, people might have been in from another game...

EDIT: I do agree with your other theories about "upping 1,000 of times then you KNOW" and it's also about how it feels... although, we don't actually "feel" the plane, we are relating what our eyes are viewing and are correlating that view through our hands feeling on the controller(s) ...

LOL ask me how I know you agree! A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, in another sim (AW), TC was one of my first trainers along with the late KGann. This methodology worked for me! They prolly killed me a bezillion times in a row before one day I somehow managed to get the better of them once or twice. It's part of the learning process. You have to get burned into your head what's getting you killed before you can turn that around on someone else.

You don't know our history and it was a serious offer of help albeit the one tongue in cheek comment.   I appreciate decent fights and ones that will not be over in 10 seconds after the merge which often happens against some.

my apology, for not recognizing the "tongue in cheek" humor!  I must keep reminding myself of the differences of how each Country / Continent views or reads humor.....

You're right about the history.... I only know that both of you was part of the same squad, although maybe not at the same time... however I do not know any history between each of you... and have never claimed of any such knowledge of said history

If you search the internet for "EM diagrams  Badboy" you'll find some.

All you really need to do is find your 1g stall speed for your current weight and altitude. Multiply by 2.44 for your corner speed and keep in mind that your best sustained turn is going to be around 2.8g plus or minus .2g at some degree of stall horn up to the stall buffet. Since you usually aren't flying at the weight and altitude the EM diagrams specify the approximations will be close enough.

To quickly compare turn rates in different aircraft I see how much I can load the wings at 200mph in a level turn before I stall. For example 3g at 200mph vs 4g.

Keep in mind that looking at any EM Diagram for any particular pane type will most times only generate one set of statistics, for that set Altitude, Set Fuel Load, set ammo load, etc....

as each plane goes up in 1 foot of altitude, so does the EM Diagram change with that increase of altitude.... all the way from sea level past 35,000 ft altitude....... also, the EM diagram will change through out the fuel load from 100% down to 0% ......

EM Diagrams can tell you alot about a plane or about plane comparison, but that is for that set alt / fuel load.....  

if one does not properly understand how to read and comprehend EM Diagrams, they might not understand why that P47D25 kicked the crap out of an La7 at 22,000+ ft altitude.... for example......

however their are some EM Diagrams out there that do show differing altitude performance measurements like Sea Level, 5K , 10K, 20K etc.....

The best thing is to learn how to decipher/record the information yourself by using Badboy's AH Bootstrap spreadsheet ( MS Excel )....... the download includes directions on how to use it....
