This is a G4M1 bomber of the 4th squadron of the 705th bomber group based in the Solomons in the first half of 1943. This aircraft was donated to the IJNAF by subscriptions raised by a Japanese newspaper. The text on the rear fuselage marks it as being the 55th aircraft donated to the IJNAF from this source and the 1006th donated in total.
