posting pictures in here
« on: March 13, 2014, 11:07:40 PM »
There is a good thread about posting pictures but I could not find it.

I look at the bbs on my phone, and many pictures are cut in half. Sometimes when I click on them to see the entire picture, I'm directed to photo bucket where I see a low quality picture I can't zoom on. It often takes up to 10 seconds or more to load, so I usually don't bother.
Other times, the picture just opens immediately and I can zoom on it without being directed to photo bucket.

I'd like to post pictures and have them open as described in my latter description.

Can someone please fill me in? Thanks

you need a public storage media that you can store the image in and than you include the link to that image in your post.

Public storages are fine, but you can also use the home page space provided by your ISP if that is included in your monthly fee.

As per fast downloads, consider resizing the pictures you're about to post. There's online services to do that, but I prefer the free Picture Resizer. It does a great job in resizing a huge 4 Mb image to 50 kb or even less!

Most  ISP allow members/customers to use their public storage space.  However, places like Mediafire and others are already set up with the tools to edit and load pictures and documents.

Ahh, things apparently are different at your whereabouts. Our ISP seem to include a personal web page space and a bunch of mailboxes in the connection package. Big world, many ways to do things... Anyway, I prefer a "local" service I'm paying for. At least they won't get sold to Facebook or similar who'd spread my files for all of the world to see.  :noid

Thanks guys. How do you post pictures so they just open immediately, and without going to the photo bucket page; where it says photo bucket at the top and has all the crap on the sides of the screen? I get that you need to use something like photo bucket.

I'd like to post some airshow pictures.

thanks again

Success! I'm going to post a bunch this week while I'm on a work trip. They are all air show and air museum pics. Which section of the forums would be the most appropriate?

Thanks again fellas for your help in resizing and posting pics.

Well, A/C and vehicles would work but so would the O. A/C and vehicles may not get lost in the flotsam.  :D

Just FYI.  There are a few forums on the bulletin board where you can post pictures directly.  Just expand the "Additional Options" in the edit post window and it will show the upload option for that forum, if it is enabled.
