Luke AFB is having an Air Show. Today, it is for Retiree Appreciation Day.
Members of the Tuskegee Airman will be in attendance.
This afternoon I observed Jet aircraft as well as piston driven aircraft.
Just a few moments ago,I watched three P51's flying over the area to my west, and then back east to the Air Base. I am about 2 to three miles due west of the runway which runs north east to south west.
One of the 51's had D Day markings, one had gold markings, and one, I'm not 100 percent sure but it had red on it's tail.
Earlier today, this afternoon that is, I thought I heard radial engines. I looked east and saw smoke trails like they were bombing or strafing the runway.
Oh, by the way, this is also "Retiree Appreciation Day at Luke AFB.

Yes, I am also a retiree

As of 1720 local, the air show for retirees is still going on. Just looked out my den door.

Earlier, I watch as four aircraft pulled mock attacks on the runway showing show smoke

Any people in Arizona, specifically the general Phoenix area, if they want to attend, it is an open house. They have parking areas south east of the base on Glendale Avenue west of Dysert Road and also I believe on Litchfield Road also east of the base. You might want to check the Luke AFB web site by goggling it.
Sorry for the spelling, I am not an English Professor or teacher
