This week in the AVA---The FootHold
« on: March 16, 2014, 10:38:13 AM »
The Foothold

With Germany's advanced technologies and capture of
the Oilfields in Russia, they have finally turned
Attention toward England. With the Constant rocket
attacks on London and incessant attacks on the RAF,
the Germans have finally managed to get a foothold
in England. Base 11 and 15 have been captured by the
Axis invaders.

The Americans are supplying planes to the fight, but
have not committed to the war. The English cannot keep
up with domestic production of Aircraft. This leaves
England with advanced fighters but limited pilots.
German has brought its best fighters and Tanks with
them! Can England hold them off? will America join
the war? the outcome depends on you!

Designer Notes: some planes are not available by
design. Allies are outgunned...yes. use all
aircraft and Ground Vehicles at your disposal to
win. don't worry about what's missing, Certain planes
are missing for a reason.

Oh brother!~ P-47N a exclusively Pacific Arena jug and the 47M of which only 315 ever saw service in late '45  but no D-11 or D-25. Why do do guys leave out the D-11 and substitute the historically inaccurate 47 in AVA every time? I love you all but this jerks me  :bhead Turns the AvA into another MA uberplane arena.

The point is, most of the 47s in the ETO through the end of the war were Razorback models. They are routinely omitted in AvAs with gamey substitutions, like the D40, M and N. Why not get it right instead of making each plane set WWII fantasy baseball. Botenplatte was another example where to justify uber 190/109s Ms and D40s were put in even though they weren't in service or involved in that showdown.
D11s are the lightest best turning models and with an altitude advantage run down. 262s routinely. Do what you like- plane sets like tanks weren't always fair. Cheap shot Ranger,  :neener:but I wouldn't have my Kd if that was true jerk  :lol The game likes  cannon better than .50s in a ho.

because if you read the setup, the war isn't as it ended in real life, its as I say it turned out. if you notice, I didn't include the tempest or the typhoon either. its not about realism. this is just a fun setup. if theres is a particular model you'd like, i'm happy to add it for you, for your playing pleasure. I added the D25, but now you're not happy with with that either? would you like the D11 instead? ill add that too if you like. either way, this setup is not about the real war, this is a "what if" Germany got equipment and fuel and America didn't enter the war.

feel free to give us a realistic or non-realistic setup you'd like to see and we'll consider it.

AvA is always fun with low or no icons. My favorite setups have been Strangle, Green Hell, Black Thursday and Bob maps. Midway II was a blast, and Ranger's cloulds were spectacular. I really liked the AI planes in that New Guinean set up too. Lots of drones to HO while waiting for  humans to show up.e

I'm getting my events/scenarios mixed up~ Green Desert. Pacific Thunder is the AvA counterpart. Black Thursday is a B17, P-47 raid series with 20K air spawns. Which was the AI AvA setup from a while back?
