Revo requested I skin this JG 77 C.205.
When the Italian government signed an Armistice in September 1943 the Germans moved quickly to secure the north of the country from their erstwhile allies. Amongst the military assets seized were Regia Aeronautica C.205 fighters and also the Macchi factory that made them. The Luftwaffe decided to put their booty to use and equipped II./JG 77 with C.205s in October. The German pilots considered it a good airframe but disliked the unreliable Italian radios and oxygen equipment. So these aircraft were soon transferred back to the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana, the newly reformed Italian Fascist air force which became operational in January 1944.
