Sound problems
« on: March 21, 2014, 07:24:51 PM »
Have a relatively new computer.  The game runs well...but having serious problems with sound and mic.  If I direct the sound to the current speakers the game sounds are excellent, not a problem, but no matter where I attach the mic jack, in the speaker or computer outlets...the mic does not work.  Recently got a set of Turtle Beach headphones with a mic.  Set this up...and it works well with normal computer functions, music...MS computer sounds and etc.  But, once I initiate the game it runs for a relatively short period...several minutes, sometimes a little more, then simply goes silent...no mic or sound.  I can start it again by simply changing some of the settings, something as simple as changing mono to stereo head phones.  It will work for a minute or two, then silent.

Summary:  the mic never seems to work no matter where it is installed while the normal speakers with the computer work fine.  Using the Turtle Beach headphones with mic...changing all settings on computer to make that default and in the game preferences, game sounds to the appropriate settings;  the sound and mic work for a short period and then just stop working.  It doesn't seem to be associated with anything I am doing in the game.

Any thoughts would be helpful...pretty frustrating.  I die easily enough, typing to squaddies and otherwise makes it way to easy to achieve my demise!

Look at the Device Manager for your sound devices. Uncheck power management. Just a wild guess, but won't hurt trying.

You can post a DXdiag and it will tell us a little more, but I would suggest you plugin the headphones and then go into control panel to check the status of your device. Try updating the drivers from control panel also.

If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.
