I've notice more and more fighters bailing after attacking bombers........... Sometimes with pilot wounds, sometimes with wheels shot out, sometimes with fuel hits, sometimes with engine oil hits, sometimes with a wing shot off, sometimes in a ball of flames.  <S>

Agreed!  999 is my test for whether I've gotten lazy with my bomber approaches.  If I do everything right, occasionally I kill him.  If I do anything wrong, he communicates very effectively that I need to tighten up my approach/be a bit more patient.

999 is beatable, though I'm sure he's killed me more than I've killed him.  The one that always sticks in my mind though, is the day I was doping along on autoclimb in my jug having just taken off under a set of high B17s.  Didn't think too much of them, they were at about 8k, I was at around 3-4k  scanning for bandits, not paying any attention to where the B17's had last been.  Then I hear engines...  I check six, the B17's are bouncing me.  Panicked break turn attempt ensued, but at 150mph it was not to be... "You have been killed by 999000".  Only time in this game I've ever been bounced by a bomber.  Laughed mighty hard at that...

I saddled up behind his bombers once..I never even got close enough to pull the trigger.. but the nightmares are going away slowly..and the doc says as long as I take my meds the flash backs and migraines should Subside..
