Hiya Mark!

I still "lurk" around on the boards more evenings than not, but haven't flown in a year or more...

I keep telling myself I will, but just haven't been able to bring myself to pull my stick and pedals out of the closet.

Good find!  I saw that article earlier today, and have to admit I'm a bit jealous that a young gal in Mongolia has more freedom when it comes to flying an eagle than I do as an American citizen. :(   The USFWS has been playing games with US falconers for the last few years and hasn't allowed us to acquire the few we're asking for.  It's ok to chop them to pieces on a wind farm though...

I'm not sure if I shared this with you or not?  This is actually one of my redtails (named "Lady" while she was with me) from a few years ago in this Nat Geo clip (beginning at 19:15):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwCiAaP0MGM

I released her the following spring, and have been flying goshawks recently.  Some of the close-ups in the clip are of a "stunt double" bird, and the filming was actually done over several hunts over several days, and they edited out the squirrels she caught in order to tell the story their script called for, but pretty dang neat none-the-less!

Yea, I have an imprint male goshawk that I flew this season.  I'm considering imprinting a female this year, and passing my male to a friend to fly.
