Just got access to...
« on: April 25, 2014, 05:55:06 PM »
...a 3D printer at work so I started going through the tutorials on some 3D software called solidworks and was able to learn enough to design then print out a dummy bullet for a 30mm casing from an A10 that I have had for years. I'm kinda proud of how it turned out considering I knew absolutely nothing about 3D modeling at the beginning of the week :)

what do ya think? a close enough replica for home display once I paint the bullet?
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

Very cool.  I am curious what do you think just the price of the materials to be on the object you made is?  Not the printer or the time, just the materials please sir.

I used approximately 1.8 cubic inches of material and .4 cubic inches of support material. My work plans to charge $9 to $12 per cubic inch of material used. I snuck this little job in when nobody was looking but it still took about 1.5 hours to print.
