I am not trying to question wether the damage the machine-guns do in AH is realistic or not.I think it is actually.
But ,would it be possible to have different visual effects for MG and cannon impacts?
It happens often ,that I see a whole bunch of
hits on the plane I`m after,I figure it`s damaged enough to be no treat ,while I`m goin after he`s wingman. And a minute later I get shot down by it.They`d tell me,all those hits were MG hits, and did no damage at all.
If I only knew for sure that some cannon hits were there,it could be a different story.
I belive in reality WWII pilots did see the difference between different kind of ordanence hitting the target.
I know it`s beautifully modelled if the plane is missing a flap,or any other control surface ,but it`s just hard to see sometimes.

BTW ,I`d love to see a HA in aces high ,but I don`t think we got enough planes for that.
We`d definately need the JU-52,SdKfz-251,and some allied tank to make it work.So laying off on the P-51H just might be a good idea, till we have the more important stuff in here.

Just my 2 cents again...now all you flamers go ahead and flame me  all you want...

IRL you could really see the difference, in ah....dont stop shootin till ya see a wing come off

I wish there were less tracer rounds.

Hear Hear.

I find that the tracer is visually distracting, and obscures what you're shooting at, and the hit sprites.

I turned them off and actually got better.

Also, it seems that if you're a poor shooter, you're better off with them off...a poor shooter has the tracers fly past the target, and they break. Now, I spray around a bit and they have no idea till I finally hit them :-)

Obviously, though, I'd prefer SOME sort of tracer to make more difficult deflection shots. But tracer that doesn't visually discombobulate me.

hmm maby we are on to something here...
I would like some options as to how often a tracer is fired.. like

.tracer 3  = 1 tracer for every 3rd round is a tracer

.tracer 8 = every 8th round is a tracer

and so on...

or how about removing smoke trails from tracers

In my lame opinion, the smoke trails are just getting to out-of-date for the present graphics -- it's almost time to make spiraling bullets with vortex trails

same place you turn off autotakeoff

I think alot of things are outdated like absolutly NO damage modeling on ships but every time I bring that up You get a bunch of cry babys whining about frame rates and crap like that.  in other words I bought this nice Athlon 800 and V5 5500 for "ship sunk".....
