jeeez  ......   +mir?

i never made the connection.....

damn nomads chansed my poor lonely mig half way across the map in the Korean scenario! was that really 15 years ago?

F86 was over modelled i tell ya!

back on subject...... it was a private duel the duelists could only see each other and nobody else could see them or interfere.

actually it was very effective no need for another arena and other players were just ignored by the two  FE's.

Fun for guys that want to duel quickly.  No fix for the smack talker that won't duel, they still won't.

We did you could offer a dual via a txt ( dot ) command and you would both be invisible to other players and each be given a mission profile so you both met.

It worked very well and eliminated the irritations of logging out of one arena, logging into another, having your fight, then trying to log back into the first arena.  You wanted to duel, you dueled, it was a simple as that.

HTC knew all of this, of course, when AH was designed, so I assume there are fine reason why we don't have this feature.  I imagine they are computer code related.

would not want to see AH waste resources on this, the arena for dueling already exists.

Yeah, Tilt, same guy, just a world older in real life.  :)

I took a break for 10 years or so before getting hooked again, and it was really nice to see some of the familiar people still playing when I came back.

There is no waste, he already did the work.

To the hundreds I dueled in the past years, I've had only a handful chest bump afterwards, most of the time - we salute and fly again another time.
The only thing I couldn't stand is the interuptions during a duel, however since custom arenas came up I figure someone could probably of made a dueling arena for customs just to allow only two people or a witness.

Eventually this would get abused so the abuser could call players out here in the forum who didn't care to accept a duel dot command. I think Skuzzy having to actually make a post about kindergarten validates the potential.

Kind of like todays political process of calling an opponent something vile with no proof. But, then the targeted opponent is only remembered for being associated to the vile accusation which eventually becomes fact in the minds of the pertinent audiences.

Then, ever after, the abuser of the duel dot command can toss out playerX chickened out whenever he wants to discredit the player's credibility here in the forums. A cheap way to get away with liable without looking like you did anything overt.

Abused, it would eventually chase players out of the game. After all, it's their $14.95 and they aren't paying to play it anyone's way but their own. Since Hitech doesn't make you sign a contract stating you will be liable and publicly labeled for cowardess if you refuse to accept a dot command duel challenge. But, some would try to create a rule and enforce it as an unspoken custom in the face of Skuzzy's Kindergarten post.
