New twist on Fleet Operations
« on: May 08, 2014, 08:14:51 PM »
The upcoming Pacific War Scenario is going to change the way the fleets operate.

Read up on it here http://pacificwar.wordpress.com/maps/carrier-and-fleet-options/

In short, the CV operates independent from the escort group.  In the Santa Cruz frame for example, each side will have 5 Escort Groups and 4 Carriers.  The CVs are able to go anywhere they want, on their own. The Escort groups are the same.  You might pull 2 escort groups and hold them back to protect 4 carriers and send 3 groups into the enemy to attack, or perhaps you want to send a single CV in with 3 escort groups for close air support.  Any configuration the Command Staff opts to use.

Just another way to switch up the options for the players to make full use of all the resources at their disposal.

Note the hard left turn by the CV at the bottom left.

Nothing clever here.  Please, move along.

Strategic blue water objectives supported by tactical blue water ops.   Nice.  Versatile power projection
