Few Questions about AVA
« on: May 14, 2014, 08:21:54 PM »
Just a few Questions about the arena. How often does a map or event last? Can or are events won? Are there any other topics discussing the way the arena is played?

A week.

Depends on your definition of 'winning.'

2 sides. No icons. Limited plane set divided historically.

Cremator,
You can play the AvA in any way you would like . If you have a scenario you would like to try , then contact one of us and we can set something up for you . We change teh map every Thursday Night after Tank Wars or Early friday depending on the night before !
Sides do not normally change or win unless the staff member running the setup changes it . We do set up events that can be won from time to time.We try to keep this arena historically correct when we can , although few times we do switch out planes .
If you have an idea we would be happy to hear it . Welcome to AvA !!

OK thanks for the info. Are the upcoming arenas and set ups posted anywhere? I enjoy the historical value of the current arena.

Hi Cremator. We cannot have the same type of win the war scenario as the late war arena, because the AvA uses custom planesets and sides and the automatic win the war randomly rotates everything to a three sided setup and the planes will be wrong.

If we want any sort of victory conditions we have to manually determine a win criteria and tabulate it.

The weekly setups are not determned months in advance, so you just need to keep an eye on this forum to see what's coming. The arena is open all the time, but does not get constant play so your best bet is to watch here to see when people are planning to show up. Tuesday nights lately seem pretty decent and if you like tanks, Thursday evenings are good.

Take care.

And the best group of players to fly with.  There's never any trash talk or "problem children".  Heck, many nights both sides use a common vox channel so we can all gab & use range vox for talking to our side.  We use custom terrains you won't see anywhere else.  Occasionally, we have Squad Challenges where a squad comes in and takes on the AvA regulars in a planned match.  Tuesday nights you will find great fighter & bomber action with the friendliest, clean playing folks in the game.  Thursdays we have Thursday Night Tank Fights where no a/c are enabled except the Storch.  It's the best tank slugfest you will find imo.  There is also an unspoken code for AvA players.  We don't HO or vulch or any of that.  It's an honor code system that I am very proud of.  Also, we are very tight with our players, always taking their questions or comments.  If you want to see a particular set up, just ask.  As a player, I truly feel it is the best arena in the game.

Show up for some fight nights and I guarantee you will get hooked like me & many others.  I promise! :aok
