I would like to see the M4(76)W un-perked. I see no real reson why it's perked, armor isn't that good, the Panzer4H has a better gun, and it is slow. If there is a reson, can it be explained?

The M4(76)w is actually one whopping mph faster than the Panzer IVH. The guns are almost identical in terms of armor penetration, but the 76(w) has significantly better magnification, 5x vs the Panzer IV's 2.4x

Speed is moot. Main gun AP is moot. Main gun reload is moot (M4/76 is .6 seconds faster

).

The M4/76 does have the advantage, as Looshy pointed out, in gun sight magnification. That is a major benefit. Another item the M4 is better in is turret traverse, the Panzer IV is second worst next to the Tiger.

The Panzer IV F/H is more versatile though, it carries more ammo and has a better HE shell.

But does that mean it should be perked? IMO, it is nowhere near needing perking.

do a few resupply runs in m3 you will never run out of perks to spend 1 to kill spawn campers.

btw if the panzer 4h has a better gun why not just up that one? spawn campers are usually really close

If loosing 15 perks or so doing what you're trying to do cuts you thin on perks; you need to resupp some towns/bases every now and then.

I haven't been here all that long considering, less than 2 years and I have about 5k gv perks, wish I could give you some...

Know where most of those came from? Getting kills in the Pz F and Wirb defending bases.

It doesn't, it's just annoying losing perks on something that really isn't worthy of being perked

I'm guessing you weren't around for the M4's introduction. It had almost entirely supplanted usage of the Panzer IV. This was before we got realistic optics as well, so the Panzer and M4 were on a more even footing. The M4 also shot faster back then.

But mostly it came down to armor. While the Pander has 80mm on the hull front, the M4 has 93mm with slope. This can be further increased if you angle the hull. And turret armor is much better, and the M4 is much easier to go hull down in.

Personally I attribute the M4's apparent lack of awesomeness to generally poor usage.

I vividly remember a mission of 40+ m4's (when they first came out). Personally, if it's only ONE perk, then why complain? I mean, I'm not a dedicated GVer, but I have over 1500 perks in Vehicle. And if you're a decent shot it's what.. 2 kills to get that perk back? Assuming you die, of course, so I don't really see all the 'hub-bub' about 1 perk.
