Superman .50's and 20mm's
« on: June 03, 2014, 10:57:35 AM »
To destroy a building(s) with these two types of ammunition ie .50cal and 20mm, is not realistic. They would make holes for a fact, but one plane on one pass could not destroy one of these structures. I have done it myself, but it's not right. My wish is to make them harder to destroy with machine guns and 20mm cannon if at all.

A group of planes would probably tear down a building eventually, but not a single plane.

It's a GAME! Complete the number of damage points needed and the building falls down.

You don't want people to shoot down buildings,  shoot them down before they can get enough damage done.

It's not intended to accurately simulate wrecking a house, you're just suppressing enemy activity to capture the town.

When you hit a building sufficiently to score you need to be able to see that condition from the air.
The building changes shape from undamaged to damaged. The game considers the object destroyed.
The number of hits required is a game design choice.

Improved damage modeling is a popular wish. I'm sure it's on the list already.
