P39Q "Snooks"

Pilot was 1st.Lt.William A.Shomo. New Guinea, November 1944. He become Medal of Honor winner. The plane was abandoned at Tadji in December 1944. It wore typical Aircobra's painting of Pacific Ocean region.

Was the US Army stencil really used that late on the the PTO P-39s? I know the 67th's P-400s still had them on Guadalcanal, but that was 1942.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
