From the second post in this thread:
If my enemy messes up and has a friendly fire incident I ought to now be facing fewer enemies.  Merely zeroing the ammo/breaking the guns leaves a fighter in play to act as bait or cause me to break off of my target as I have no way of knowing that he is toothless now.

Does killshooter damage components of your plane that you hit on your friendlies plane?

So if I hit the friendly's left aileron, mine comes off instead?

I have only killshot myself twice, and both times it was instantaneous so I don't know the details of KS.  :salute

At least he is posting something that is helping others in this thread, unlike some tools.

Yes. Whatever damage you would have inflicted happens to you instead.

shoot faster, problem solved.  and in a furball there isnt such thing as clearing your 12.  it just happens that you think you are the first to be there while most of the time you are actually clearing somebody else's 12.

If killshooter was off, no Knight bomber would toolshed fights to death on my watch.  :noid  :rock

But seriously, yeah it is necessary.

Exactly. When clearing a friendly's 12 be sure to approach from behind him flying through his plane as he's shooting.
