Rik Mayall had a huge fan base in the Netherlands as well.

Still have The Young One's and Bottom series on >> VHS Video  :lol

The live performances were insane as well. His movies ( Guesthouse Paradiso ) is a classic!

RIP Rik Mayall, you will be missed!

It's really sad. He was one of a kind. I still use that line: Why is a woman like a plane? You jump inside her cockpit five times a day and take her to heaven and back.

In my case it was sixteen times a day! I mean the plane, although...............

Stewie in Family Guy has to be based on him.

This sucks.  He was only 56.

Often the best ones go young. He was very close to die already earlyer when he received a serious brain damage due to an ATV accident. Doctors were just about to pull him from life support when he showed signs of life again.

I'd never heard of this gentleman before, but from the clips posted above he was hilarious. Sadly, we...or I, don't get to see a lot of British comedy shows here in the states. It's a shame too because I always enjoyed about every British comedy show I've ever seen. Right now all they show here where I live is Keeping Up Appearances and Have You Been Served. Before that was Black Adder and Mr.Bean. Maybe some of you guys across the pond could post a list or some more links of some other comedy shows we've been missing out on.

R.I.P. Rik Mayall

The Young Onez, which is the show I recall his hilarity from, was one of the best shows MTV ever had. The second, and last, was The State, though that was American. Many of those players eventually found their way to Reno 911.
RIP Rik too soon
