For comparison's sake, a flight of Mossi B Mk 16's armed only with the 4000 lb "cookie" HC bombs will not be able to sink a CV as they will only do roughly 7031 lbs in damage (3126 x .75 x 3).  Keep in mind the splash damage of the HC/LC bombs is GREATER by 25%, so anything with a hardness factor of less than 2343 lbs within the blast area will be leveled.  They work great on towns and factories.  :aok

I forget the exact damage that it takes to sink a CV without digging in to my files, but it is near 7800 lbs.

btw.... her are the metric bombs damage in pounds:

50 kg = 172 lbs
60 kg = 206 lbs
100 kg = 275 lbs
250 kg = 615 lbs
500 kg = 1100 lbs
800 kg = 1443 lbs
1000 kg = 2835 lbs
2000 kg = 3403 lbs

1 kg = 2.2 lbs (roughly), so a 500kg bomb is roughly the same weight/size/power of a 1000lb bomb.  The 1000 lb bomb and the 500kg bombs are the only bombs with the same weight to damage ratio, they are the "control".

I encourage people to take a look at a flight of G4M armed with the 800 kg AP bomb when going after a CV, especially one that has damage. Those 3 bombs alone do 6400+ lbs of damage, pretty impressive really.  The Me410 can carry 2/500 kg SAP bombs, together they do just shy of 3000lbs of damage.  The B5N, D3A, SBD, Stuka, 190F-8, and a few others all carry AP or SAP bombs of sort.  I highly suggest them for single OBJ's.   :aok

Not sure about actual damage in terms of lbs, but it takes 2 US torpedoes to sink a CV and 3 German or Japanese torpedoes to sink a CV. It takes 1 torpedo of either kind to sink the cruise or destroyer.

Keep in mind HTC has the torps modeled the way they do to reflect where the torps impact the ships (below water line).

I believe damage from torpedoes is twice what the weight would otherwise indicate. So US torps are the equivalent of around 4,000 lbs. and Axis are somewhere in the ballpark of 3600 lbs.

US torp delivers 4,687 lbs of damage
Interestingly I just found the Japanese torpedo from the B5N to do exactly the same damage.
