I've made mention of this before, but I worked as a Canadian soldier/extra on Legends of the Fall outside of Calgary. During the charge scene in the dark, I'm the soldier in the frame 2nd from the right of Aidan Quinn.
Brad Pitt wasn't really all that famous yet, Thelma and Louise, True Romance, a few others, Interview with a Vampire came out the same year as Legends, I think it was afterwards though. He really liked the area, he still owns and maintains a home in the Canadian rocky mountains near where much of the film was shot. One of the guys from our troop left a note on his chair one day to ask if he wanted to come hit the town with all of us on the weekend, and he came looking for us with the note in hand, demanding to be shown around town. He liked seeing the older architecture and buildings than the bars like the old Republic, and nobody mobbed him when we were out. Must have been nice, because I'm sure for the last 15 years going anywhere in public without being mobbed by paps and fans is an impossibility. Anyhow, he was a nice guy back then, I'm sure fame changes people, but he certainly was very cordial and pro on the set, not a pita at all.
