How about the text buffer has something like the annoying orange of the help chat with a countdown "Noe Stuka D3A mission starts in 5min" and it will post automatically until it rolls it will just use the mission name and post every min until lit rolls.

Wanted to keep this dream alive.

Plus one benefit to clearing the chat buffer.
Plus one to alerting new players there is a mission.

Weather an icon On the clipboard that lights up when a mission is posted ( could even be the pickup mission line on the clipboard), to an audible tone like that of a base being attacked. To be frank earl is on to a simple yet efficient idea.

This is a fantastic idea.  I am still pretty new to this and I love flying missions.  New players learn so much more in a mission than just upping and hoping.  I was flying missions last night with LTOWN and having a great time.  First ever carrier landing last night in a Kate.   Wouldn't have even tried had a more experienced person not been there to talk me into it. :salute  Missions are crazy fun.  Latrobe has a tendency to come up with some crazy things.  I always try to up a mission with that guy. :rofl  Anyway to efficiently notify people of missions, then guide them to join the mission is a great idea.  Period.
Respect is granted, not demanded.

Let's get drunk and fly!

+1 - definitely good for new players, and for those of us that like big missions.

With Lathrobe back and his giant fun missions being run. It would be a nice thing to have a standard system notification. Heck it could even be a permanent tab on the chat buffer that flashes when missions are posted. When you click on the tab the message is in the buffer. Then on launch the tab stops flashing. Everyone has a chat buffer sitting somewhere on their screen.

This is like the old joke that voters are harsher to their beer brewer if he has an outage, than their politicians after raising their taxes. Death and taxes are certain but, fun and sex is only now.

This would work nicely. :aok

You can't eliminate mission spam.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

Just kidding. Actually, this would foster PARTICIPATION.   No whining about hordes, etc. either.   We need participation from current players to attract new players.

:airplane: It is weird, but with the replies to my post and what people have said to me in game, I don't understand why Hi Tech and company can't see the same advantages to adding and keeping people who are trying out the game. Even though I knew what I was doing the first day I came into the game, concerning how to fly and how to load the aircraft with fuel and ords, it took about 1 week to begin to join missions.....there just was no way to find out if one was posted, without constantly "clicking" on pickup missions in the clipboard map.
Maybe if they just put a small red light somewhere on the clipboard map, which would light up, after someone posted a mission and everyone would know to click on pickup missions to see if it was a mission posted they wanted to join in!
Don't understand why that would be such a big deal!
Blue Skies and wind at my back and wish that for all!!!

HTC, is this wish:

A: Too technically challenging to implement?  :O
B: Too far down the list of priorities? (new graphics engine taking all programming hours)   :uhoh
C: Not awesome enough (we will not accept this answer without more info)  :frown:

I tend to agree that I don't understand why this simple adjustment to Pickup Mission visibility and/or participation (via Looking For Mission or other suggestions above) hasn't been acknowledged.

This wish doesn't have the standard nay-sayers as it will not impact their game play. I suppose this is why I'm disappointed that this wish hasn't been addressed.

<S> HTC and team, I'm sure most of us don't want to know what's "Behind The Green Door"...  :x  (for some reason my dad giggles when I say that..... :devil

What is happening today that I see, at least in Rook country, if I am not running missions, everybody is scattered all over the map and no effort is being made to do what the game is designed to do, which is capture bases!

Hmmm.  I thought the game was designed to have fun.

According to the home page Engage in land, sea or air combat.  Aces High takes the art and science of vintage WW1 and WW2 air combat and sets it in a high intensity online multiplayer environment.  In fact, no where on the home page does it mention capturing bases.  If that was the primary game design feature you'd think they'd at least mention it no?

Regardless of one man's idea of the game design, +1 to the idea.

I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

you mean in whatever country you are in, nobody advertises  on country chanel that a mission is available?  I find it hard to believe.  in the knights we get constantly asked to joined missions.  we just dont care to join as that would mean team play, we just dont do that.
