My cynical mind
« on: August 07, 2014, 01:06:16 PM »
There's a new TV advert on British TV lately, advertising "Fruitella" sweets.  The gimmick is that every sweet has a letter printed on the wrapper so you can spell out words (yeah I know, lame lame lame, the concept is about 40 years old and didn't work for alphabetti spaghetti either).  Anyway, the first advert I saw for this began with an 80 year old grandmother saying to her family "I'm trying to get pregnant."

The second is a kid saying "Dad! Dad!  I got expelled!"

The cynic in me is now absolutely positive that kids all over this country....if any of em actually bought Fruitella anyway.....would be saying something along the lines of "Dad!  I've got herpes!"

If you assume they can spell you're no cynic.

You didn't get my point despite being awesome? Let me explain: I used some time wisely to learn a) what Fruittella sweets are and b) what was in the ad Swoop mentioned. Now that I know both, I also learned that I could well have lived on without the knowledge. Three lessons in a day, not bad! BTW our neighbourhood cat just passed our gateway with something in her mouth. Might have been a mole, they are quite rare in our neighbourhood, on the other side of the big street there's molehills all over the place.
