Armor at the USAHEC
« on: August 03, 2014, 07:28:33 PM »
My wife, who was in the US Army for 4 years (3rd Armored Division, Freidburg, Germany), and I spent the afternoon at the United States Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) near Carlisle, Pennsylvania. I took some great pics of the armor on display there but our trip was cut short by a nasty thunderstorm. We plan to go back to get pics of the M42, M26 and the rest of the displays but here are some great pics I got of the M18, the M4 and the 88mm Pak 41. Note unlike the Hellcat in our game, the real one here has a muzzle brake on the 76mm.

Fighter pilots win glory .... Bomber pilots win wars.

Early M18s were fitted with the M1A1 76mm, which didn't have a muzzle brake. Later M18s were armed with the M1A2 76mm, which had the muzzle brake...
