This just in from BBC London...Adjacent to airbase RAF Kenley (F40), the village of Saint-Basil-Betwixt-The-Wells was hard hit as one of the attacking Junkers 88's missed the airfield and dropped its bombs near the village common. Although all of the villagers were safely ensconced within their Anderson Shelters, the local publican's pet dog, Spot, was fatally wounded. He will be sorely missed.
RAF Training Command are vexed to find themselves deprived of several DeHavilland Gypsy Moth training biplanes, which were destroyed in hangars and dispersal areas near RAF Croyden (F35).
Airbase RAF Andover (F39) was bombed and strafed from end to end, with nearly every structure destroyed. However, the Ladies' Gardening Association have promised to pitch in with their assorted dibbles and hoes, and confidently expect to have the airfield serviceable day after tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the following was heard on Radio Berlin...Today, the Reich Air Ministry proudly announces that the Luftwaffe has dealt a fatal blow to the RAF!
