Glad I made the Con in 2000 for AW.Gonna mis the old gal.Its kinda like the first piece ya got.You allways remember that but now shes died in a horriable missmanaged accident.Kudos to Mage for a veritable online lifetime into that game.Alot of us got our starts there.I know I will miss it being around.

EA is only interested in the almighty dollar.  Been that way ever since they saw how much they could make with The Sims (and the 5 expansion packs for it...)  They won't keep anything now that isn't at least marginally profitable.  Wouldn't be surprised to only see EA Sports games and The Sims variants (including The Sims Online) coming out of EA when all is said and done.

I left AW for other shores months ago, but this is like having your first love die in a car accident. To those who brought AW to life many years ago, thanks for the ride and I hope you land well.

Those DOS days will always be remembered by me as a highpoint in my gaming hobby -- a time when the community and arena design created a sweet online world. The AOL days and Gamestorm days were certainly fun, though the Big Pac marked the beginning of the end for me. Someday, (soon perhaps) I will serial network two old computers under DOS, watch a few old films and get a buddy or two over and fly periscope warrior once again  :)

Salute to former opponents, AW volunteers and those developers and staff with committment and vision. Shame on the spreadsheet-driven tools who drove it into the ground to die a whimpering death.

Charon

When I occasionally gush about HTC, it's not being a brown nose. I really do appreciate, and hope the rest of the AH community does as well, the difference between a community driven by owners who love their work, and others managed by corporate tools.

Ditto Charon. My sentiment 100% in regard to HTC versus a corporation.

To all the new players from Air warrior, you may not know it yet but this is for the better, HitechCreations/AcesHigh deserves you more than that "kick you in the face when your down" no good corporation (and you it).

You will have good fun here, good group of guys and gals. Fun to fly with and always a <S>! for a good fight..

Welcome!

I never got in to Air warrior my self, but i feal your pain.

EA is a horrible company. They ruin eveything they touch.

Im a avid RPG'r, been playing online RGPS for a looooong time. I got in to the first graphical MMORGP ultima online. Which was a kick bellybutton game (at the beggining), until Origin sold its self to EA. I left UO for a year before this happened, when i returned EA owned it and the whole game had gone to toejam, they corn holed it so kids could have fun playing it and there parents would keep sending them checks.. they make a million(s) $$ a month off that game.

Burn EA, drown in a pool of you own feicies.

Rotorian, a quick answer:  Most of the guys in here try to keep a certain measure of maturity on the boards.  Most of the guys here have already worked out that swearing offends a lot of people and so they avoid it.  The boards are not policed by the "UBB Gestapo" so you may choose what you want to say.  In the end, though, I think avoiding unnecessarily offending others is a good thing...
