Saturday 3 pm Eastern (8 pm UK) I'm running the Battle of Milne Bay in Special Events II arena (a "This day in WWII" event).

Zero vs. P-40E.  B-25's vs. Val's and Betties.

It was the Australians' great stand at Milne Bay, stepping stone to Australia.

Everyone is welcome!  :aok

This one has action for GVers as well (M4 vs. Panzer to represent the ground fighting).  Come represent yourselves, GV'ers!  You guys ask for special events with tanks in them.  Here is one for you.

I had fun and was some good team work on the IJN/IJA side!

I look forward to trying to attend more of these in the future and recommend others try it out......

to me it felt kind of like FSO with AvsA arena type settings, except icon range was set to the normal LWMA icon range and fuel burnrate......

Thanks for Hosting, Brooke!

Thanks for flying! <S>

And I'm glad you had a good time.

"This Day in WWII" events are meant to give a flavor of the historical battle, but with playability and simplicity as overriding factors.

There are a lot of different styles for the different battles represented.

Next month (Oct 13 or 14 -- haven't decided yet), is:

Milne Bay was very tactical -- lower alt, pushing for bases, low-alt fights in Zeros and P-40's, B-25's, and Betties, etc.  Black Thursday is the 2nd raid on Schweinfurt -- high alt B-17's and P-47's, strategic bombing vs. FW 190's and Bf 109's.

Bugger, first one I've missed in years but working on Sunday rates made up for it.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.
