It's been said many times, that HiTech plans on adding submarines. It's on his list.

Between occasional hops in AHII I enjoy a bit of SH4.

I also heard Blizzard is coming out with a new MMO to replace WoW.

This is the Captain.  We have a lil' problem with our entry sequence so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

How about uboats then? Can even have some perk ones. Just can't submerge, be like a PT boat.

Never tried 4 Arlo I have III but haven't loaded it for some time. Immersive as crap and totally awesome but you want some free time on your hands for sure.

To me the great thing about 4 is that it isn't U boats. It's U.S. Pacific Fleet subs (granted, v 1.5 includes 'Operation Monsoon' which is U boats in the Pacific). It does need modding, though. The good news is that there's a community (SubSim.com) http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/index.php?s=b777e94a91355917237d9eda92678072 that offers plenty.

As for subs in AHII, I love this game but I don't see it as a viable platform for subs (and I don't think 'non-submersible' subs would be as fun as the sub sims I already play). The only 'subs' I can imagine being featured in AHII would be AI periscopes given courses (much like TFs are) that'll shoot algorithmic torps at enemy ships that get too close. I'm not all that excited about that, even. I'd rather see some nation specific BBs, CAs and CVs (mainly for scenario/event play, admittedly).

There are some other awesome mods to SH4. "Operation Monsun" basically turns it into a U-Boat sim in the Atlantic complete with new campaign. "We Dive At Dawn" allows you to play a British submarine campaign in the Pacific. There's an IJN campaign mod also. There are several playable surface ship mods, including an Iowa class BB.
