Well I'm staying neutral on the American v Britpop debate as long as no one accuses U2 of being British. 

I also don't see why anyone is complaining for getting something for nothing. But then again I like their music.

Eric Clapton made is career by lifting blues songs from American artists. I'd rather listen to Robert Johnson any day of the week.

Compare Robert Johnson's and Clapton's versions of Crossroads. To say Clapton simply "lifted" the song from Johnson is just asinine. They are both great in their own right, but are vastly different in both sound and style. Clapton brought an entirely new element of fast paced, loud, and high-intensity rock and roll to an old Delta blues song and made it his own, much like Led Zeppelin did in their first couple albums in particular.

I listen predominately to blues myself i.ve got most of robert johnsons releases and much more besides
my previous posts were more than a little tongue in cheek but seriously American blues,Jazz and rock is on a par with similar from the U.K both feed the other and may not have even evolved to the genres we all love today without each other
