Black Widows Issue (RANT POST)
« on: September 24, 2014, 07:34:26 PM »
WARNING: THIS IS A RANT POST.

Just recently, I've been having some serious issues with the Black Widows (421st).

First, I've found a spy working for them. BWRavenJ. Who belongs to BWRaven. Hitech, if there's a way to check this out, please could you prove me right or wrong.

Just tonight really ticked me off. They were flying with the bish. No big deal. BWraven shoots me down, then not even 30 seconds go by, and the BW's start hoping to Rooks. So I figured, meh, no that huge of a deal. Then, about 2 minutes later, cries on Country channel go out about a mission coming in on A122 from the BISH. They hopped countries to defend against a horde for kills. I don't agree with that. I understand a squad jumping countries once a tour, but not in the middle of a tour to defend against a raid for kills. I will be paying attention to what country they're flying for in the next few days.

You might have more fun if you quit worrying about what every one else is doing and just play your own game.  :aok

p.s. That also works in the game of life.

TBH, my game in AH is doing missions. I've had an incident last week where 2 of my missions were ratted out. It's really annoying .

Prove they were ratted out.

In most cases missions are spotted by paying attention to the map.

If your mission was spotted more than likely you didn't plan it well enough. Plan for getting spotted and take actions to cover for it. Faints, porkers running ahead, just a guy flashing a dar is enough most times to lead defenders AWAY from the main attack.

I HATE, HATE, HATE hordes. therefore MY GAME is keeping the map up and zoomed out, scanning for bases fairly close to friendly bases with a little activity, where I might be able to coax a 1v1 or 2v1 fight. Because i'm always scanning the map, I see many missions as soon as they up. I notice patterns form. an out of place darbar that many might mistake as strat runners, to me shows bombers climbing to WF a town as a mission hits.

the point im trying to make is... before you cry SPY, take some time to "read" the map. a lot of times a mission from a certain base to another is so obvious it's a wonder they get as close as they do.

I once noticed a big difference in "logged in" and "in flight" Rooks, along with a lack of dar bars on the map. I called out on country.. "mission inbound field XX from south"  about 20 Bish responded, headed south, and we were breaking their Dar circle right after they lifted off. It was a turkey shoot, flaming 38's and Pony's everywhere. Ofcourse 200 lit up with cries of cheating and spies.  :neener:

I mean really, in these days of diminished numbers and difficulties in finding fights, you are complaining because some fighting actually took place? Actually, this sort of thing is exactly why we need 1 hour switch times back.

Jolly you run a good mission so don't give up on running them.  Have a contingency.

Some suggestions.  There will always be those missions that are meet with large number of reds.  I suggest you have in your thoughts the critical call for all to drop ords which is rarely done on missions.  A tough call to blow off a mission.

If you have the numbers, have slick fighters to protect heavy fighters.  There are always those that prefer slick over heavy.  On some missions I have tried calling out a priority list of those to drop ords in case of attack.  The priority droppers would not be assigned specific targets.
