Nice reel!

Also nice timing for a trip to Minnesota, their state bird isn't so active when it gets chilly outside.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

Rhave my buddy drag me outich,

I have one of those, not sure what year it is but it's a green and grey cardinal 4.

I also have 2 black cardinal 4's and a penn ss series, not sure of the model and too lazy to check but it's from the mid 80's.   I dont use the spin stuff much anymore,I'd rather flyfish or use my center pin and floatfish.

They should be running up the rivers soon in my area,I might have to have my buddy drag me out and drift a few flies!

    :salute

PS: sweet reel,be careful with the bail spring as they are hard to come by these days!

Very nice Rich!!  I still have my dad's Mitchell 308.   That reel has caught more fish than a long liner.

Best of luck on your trip.......be sure to stop n our Fishing thread and post some pics  :aok

The Zebco was the first with the adjustable dial/rear drag system that was revolutionary for its time. http://bassfishingarchives.com/short-strikes/the-reel-of-the-decade-maybe-longer#more-1967 Its unusual to find one so old in such good condition and I still remember the old man being so giddy getting his hands on one when they first came out. He also left me a world class collection of old Muskie Lures that were stolen in a Burglary, which is part of the reason I have hunted Burglars so relentlessly in my time. I hate a thief.

I havnt even used it all that much cause I treasure it so. It was a "very" expensive spinning wheel for its day being made of magnesium and stainless and was made for both fresh and salt. Had I the ready cash I could go on a real binge buying old lures and equipment, duck decoys and calls, Historical relics of our sport.

The Green Hornet will ride again in a few days however and there is no reel I trust more should a 10 lb walleye hook up. :salute
