Saitek X52 and the Virtual HID Device
« on: October 17, 2014, 12:54:42 PM »
When I plug in my X52, it seems to loose it's marbles lately.  In Windows 7 devices, it shows two joysticks - the X52 and a Virtual HID device.  In the game controller settings, the Virtual is dead, but the X-52 seems to be fine.  When I'm trying to map - all that keeps coming up is the Virtual Hid Device - not the Saitek.  And this is prevelant across all my games.  If I go into device manager and disable the HID controller, my Saitek disappears and all is left is the VHD.  :bhead

This is what I always see:

This is the properties view but nothing works

This is the Saitek properties view and everything works

And this is my advanced settings...but games doesn't reco the Saitek - all they see if the Virtual... :(

Any idea how I can get that VHD to go away when I plug in my Saitek?

Ed

If you have it plugged on a USB3 port, disable USB3 or plug it to a USB2 one instead.

Figured it out.  Decided to go into Device Manager and figure WTH that Virtual Hid Device was.  Disabled one of them, and presto - the Virtual game controller disappered. Issue resolved. :)
