I am one of those pudding heads who enjoys torpedo attacks, despite the suicidal nature and sit and waste a few minutes period when Aces High cuts your puppet strings and you cant do anything for a few minutes except sit.

1] It would be nice, no matter how unrealistic it is, to get something visual,  call it 'torpedo view', when the fish is in the water. Have it like a gunner position from the plane or secondary bombardier view that you can view while on autopilot.
At least, and this is a really dumb idea [ but consider the source  :) ] knowing how inconsistent the cv position is in films, have a box where you could view the torpedo view in a film.
You need something but idle time there.

2] Is it possible to get those darn drone pilots to really fly NOE close to you when you attack a TG and try to come in under their radar?

There have been similar things asked for before, such as timers for when the torpedo would hit the target, or having a camera set behind the last bomb dropped in a salvo to get an up-close view of your results. Personally, I think it would be cool! +1 :aok

Always wondered why we don't have a torpedo director aiming device.

+1  Its basically suicide at least 1/2 the time so it would at be nice to be able to watch them run.  I don't care if its a torp cam or just something that lets you watch them (like F8 view) as your spirit floats up towards the big white light, it would just be nice to see what happens (and a great training tool).

I like torpedoes from PT.
I'd give this a +1

I'm always a +1 for this. I asked some time ago for the same thing.

Forgot to mention in the initial post, on one of my last torpedo runs around OP date, I was torpedoing and listening to the radio.
The absolute perfect song came on the radio.....

Out of curiosity, how long do torpedoes travel?  (i.e. how long should I wait in the tower until there is no hope of success)

Depends on the type:

Ya if we have near auto bomb calibration, seems like a similar torpedo setup would be fair.
