In Sydney right now:

At least it's getting inland to the reservoirs.

Heheh, I suppose that map will be valid for about 3 hours - wind's howling and there's sirens in the background...

Oz and Texas might be on the same drought cycle despite the hemispheres.  We had a decent summer for rain.  Great.  Ain't it?

I hope you guys get some 'soakers' over time.

Was kinda rainy here on Sunday.  A tropical storm decided to become a hurricane right as it approached us.  We took a beating as nobody was prepared.

Now we have a major Cat 3 (expected by be 4 later tonight) bearing down on us.  Current track shows it right on top of us on Friday at about 5pm.

Fun fun fun.

Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain

Huh huh meanwhile here in Ireland, in fact the famously west of Ireland, it's hardly rained at all in the last few months. Only today in the middle of October I had to turn on the air conditioning in the car during the afternoon. Ok in the morning we need a bit of heat to clear the condensation.

If this is global warming?  I want more! People are walking around in shorts and tee shirts. We had a barbeque last night and sat out in the garden last night eating dinner.

In October in Ireland this is unheard of.

But it can't last. We will pay for this. A white Christmas no doubt.

Cheers, only a few years ago the dams were very low. Ultimately it will become a crisis unless city growth is limited, and there's no signs of that happening. I think they are up to around 90% capacity currently.

News this morning filled with tales of flash floods - State Emergency Services folks had to go on nearly 80 rescues of people stuck in cars after having attempted to drive across flooded roads...

Does not rain in southern California anymore.

As long as it rains up in Northern California, that's fine.  We can run a pipeline from north to south.  :O
