I still don't understand the switching off of the engine many times in those fights.  It's been a topic many times over the years, some saying it is no different than chopping throttle, others disagreeing.  Does it really have enough positive effect to use it, or is it just a case of the pilot not having a throttle, and it being faster than holding down the minus key or whatever the keyboard equivalent for reducing throttle is.

Anyway, good to see you flying again Debrody, it's been quite a while since you've been a regular in the MA, once you get the rust off, it'll be interesting to see this duel again.  Not taking anything away from Skyrr, those were good fights, and Styrr has a pretty consistent and accurate shot.

Once the new version comes around, a many of the old hands come out of the woodwork, I think we'll be seeing some pretty epic fights vs SKyrr, it seems everyone wants a piece of him, and there are some guys out there who are/were incredible 1v1 dueling pilots.

It would be better if you had no idea they posted, like other BBSs do it...

How is it this idiocy remains unlocked when even a humble man being honored by his fellow countrymen/women not only gets locked but the video of same is deleted?  :headscratch:

He's been flying for quite some time, actually (he came back at the start of last tour - September), even though he claimed it was his "first day back." We shot him down in the MA several weeks back. Luckily we have something called Fraps and AH tour stats.

AH tour stats also tell that i wasnt flying for 6-7 weeks. And missed a year or so before that.

AND?

I didn't post the films, I simply posted proof that your accusation was wrong.

Oh then. No film, no proof. Seriously, on the d9 round for example, youre harshly pulling it up and you claim that youre a couple mphs slower when im still almost level? Hmmm hmmmm...

Also... photoshop is a wonderful tool  ;)

It doesn't work.  Back in the very early days of AH there were a few players (mostly your luftwhiners) that would turn off their engines in order to bleed E rapidly to get around a turn quicker and/or to force an overshoot, hblair was one of the players that used to do it a lot.  Back then, if you were at 100% power and turned off the engine and then turned it back on, you'd be back at 100% power as though you didn't turn off your engine.  Hitech then changed the engine start up sequence so if you shut it down and then turned your engine back on, your engine would be at idle and not gain any benefit by turning off your engine.

I know some claim that it helps with hammerheads but again, it's just an AH urban myth that it does.

Do you not see it in all the videos we post? The question is easily answered.
